Q and A with Buried Secrets

19th January 2013 by Emma Scott

Interview with Luke Clarke of Buried Secrets.

Band History and info on the members:

The Band was formed around 2010, the band still has no lineup change since officially formed. We’ve released to singles that are available on any of our social networking sites. The lineup consists of Jim Sheehan – Vocals, Luke Clarke – Drums, James West – Guitar and Shane Giess – Bass.

Describe your sound:

It’s hard to describe our sound really, we’ve all got very different musical influences. I would call it Alternative Rock / Metal with a catchy commercial sound.

Highlights with the band so far?

One of the biggest highlights was recording and releasing both our singles (Two Birds One Stone & Everything Between). Also having the opportunity to work with M.A.S records.

Hopes for the future?

To release a full album and tour it out all over the country.

What music are you into?

This is a difficult one, we all have very different musical tastes. Personally I’m into bands like Dream Theatre, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus. On the other hand our frontman is into music like Arctic Monkeys, Don Broco and various dance/dubstep artists. Our bassist (Shane) & our Guitarist (James) have a similar music taste, bands like Wednesday 13, Murderdolls, Monitionless In White. As a whole we don’t have many mutual agreements on bands.

What can we expect from your live set?

30 minutes of original material, we start off with fast upbeat tracks and then throw a few slower ones in throughout the set (including our single Everything Between) and then finish on a high with our first single (Two Birds One Stone).

What’s your website/facebook info?

Do you have any material to buy?

Both our singles are free but there is an option to buy if they want to help us out.

Why should people come and see you play live?

Because we put on a good live performance which has a decent amount of diversity to the set.

Do any of the band members have any weird habits?

We don’t really have any weird habits, the only thing to add is out bassist (shane) is quite the weird, haha!

Any upcoming releases?

No dates confirmed at the moment, we will be recording another track this year and it will be released mid year.

What is the best gig you’ve ever played?

The best gig we’ve ever played was supporting Avantine (A lichfield based Metalcore band) in their hometown gig.

How about the worst?

There isn’t really a worst, we did support a punk band (which seemed like a good idea at the time). The crowd didn’t really care that we were playing, haha.
