Q and A with Fragments

11th December 2012 by Emma Scott

Good to catch up with Josh from the band:

Q. So tell me a brief history of the band.

A. The band started in October 2011 as a 5 piece with 2 vocalists, after a series of line-up changes it is now a 5 piece with 1 vocalist. Fragments we previously named ‘Call it karma’ but was changed due to band vote. Gigging began in June 2012 and have come thick and fast since, playing Birmingham regularly (hometown), Derby, Leicester and Telford, with a host of amazing bands.

Q. Do any of the band members have any weird habits?

A. I wouldn’t say weird habits, but plenty of bad habits haha. The most frequent being going to subway rather than practicing.

Q. What are your plans for the future?

A. We’re still looking pretty short term at the moment, starting work on the E.P, getting merch printed, and setting up a mini tour in Feb.

Q. Any upcoming releases?

A. We have a new song written which will be played on the 16th of Dec at the Emma Scott Presents gig, and another one in the pipeline (something very different to our usual style)

Q. What is the best gig you’ve ever played?

A.  By Far our favourite gig so far was in Leicester with our bros in Icons, it was at in the basement room of the shed, packed back to front, sweaty and intimate (just the way we like it)

Q. How about the worst?

A. Every band has them, and we wont bad mouth any promoters in particular but we have had a few gigs where we are playing with an acoustic band or a tribute act, being metal-core/screamo, doesn’t always go down the best haha.

Q. If you could play with any one in the world, alive or dead for one night only, who would it be?

 A. I know my band would be The devil wears Prada (Josh), and i can speak for the rest of the band when i say i think we all aspire to play with our influences (Architects, Parkway drive). I think with recent events i can speak for most bands when i say i would do anything to play with the late great Mitch Lucker from suicide silence R.I.P.
