Q and A with Only the Good

4th January 2013 by Emma Scott

Interview with Aaron Orme of Only The Good.

Band History and info on the members:

The band formed in 2007 and started to gig locally across Birmingham and Wolverhampton on a temporary line up. The line up changed a few times and this was disruptive for the band to gain the momentum needed to get on the map. We were without a singer from 2009 onwards. In 2011 the final line up was complete and we haven’t really looked back since. We played in venues all across Birmingham in 2011 and 2012 has been the best year we could have hoped for playing some massive shows and meeting some great new friends along the way.

Only The Good are:

Aaron Orme – Lead Vocals
Jason Davies – Guitars
Liam Garey – Guitars
Alison Biddle – Bass
Mike Newey – Drums / backing vocals

Describe your sound:

Hard rock with elements of punk and metal thrown in.

Highlights with the band so far?

Pretty much the whole of 2012… it’s been a great year all round. Starting at Camden then getting chosen to support three great bands at O2 Academy 2, closing the year supporting Electric Six in front of around 500 people… Doesn’t get much better than that for an unsigned band.

Hopes for the future?

Hoping for pretty much more of the same for 2013 n hopefully we can get our name on a label.

What music are you into?

We’re all into a variety of different stuff. Liam, Jase and Al are high into Maiden.. Mikes into his punk rock and I’m into anything. Funeral For A Friend are probably my favourite band at the moment.

What can we expect from your live set?

A lot of energy, sweat n enjoyment.

Do you have any material to buy?

Our latest E.P Time Flies is available on Amazon, iTunes and various other online outlets.

It’s also available at our shows on physical CD.

Why should people come and see you play live?

Several reasons… Firstly because we like to meet everyone who comes to see us or any other band we play with.

Secondly according to reviews we put on a very good live show so come just to see if they’re doing their job right..

Third, we have material that isn’t online and not recorded yet so the only way to hear more of us is to come see us play live.

Any upcoming releases?

Well we’ve started work on new material for our debut album which we hope to release next year.

If you could play with any one in the world, alive or dead for one night only, who would it be?

I think all of the band individually would have different ones. I think overall it would be Iron Maiden, for me it would be Freddy Mercury. Both amazing performers.
