Q and A with Insolito

5th December 2012 by Emma Scott

Q. So tell me a brief history of the band.

A. The band have been together for a couple of years now, originally conceived during a drunken chat at Download Festival in Donington we decided to hook up and start playing with no distinct genre or sound in mind. Since then we’ve managed to discover our sound and played alongside some well established acts, recently releasing an EP entitled ‘Why Die Wondering?’ which can be found in all of the usual places.

Q. Do any of the band members have any weird habits?

A. Our drummer Aaron has a habit of taking his shirt off every gig. Honestly, no one wants to see that! If you come and check us out, keep your eyes to the front of the stage for a Moobless experience.

Q. What are your plans for the future?

A. We just want to keep writing, keep playing and keep making friends. Ultimately we’d love to play some UK festivals, and play alongside our heroes at larger venues but until that point we’re focusing on getting our music out to as many people as possible who may enjoy it.

Q. Any upcoming releases?

A. We’re currently working on an album but have no solid release date for it yet. There also maybe a cheeky single coming out soon so watch this space.

Q. What is the best gig you’ve ever played?

A. Our favourite show has to be our last Emma Scott Presents night playing at the 02 Academy 2 with Sevendaze on the same night that Black Sabbath were playing in the Main Room. Hearing Ozzy on stage whilst sitting backstage was a surreal experience. Despite what was going on next door we had a really good turnout and it was great to play such a big room with some top local bands.

Q. How about the worst?

A. About thirty seconds into our third ever gig, Aaron’s drum kit fell into about four different pieces, we weren’t sure what to do and tried to finish up the track as best as we could but it was pretty hard to recover the set from that point! We’ve had a few slip ups here and there since but not many other train wrecks to date.

Q. If you could play with any one in the world, alive or dead for one night only, who would it be?

A. Alexisonfire. They are probably one of the main reasons a few of us got into the Post-Hardcore genre, people who have seen us live will know that we always throw a little homage to them into our set.
