Q and A with tHE kI

29th November 2012 by Emma Scott

The Ki have played loads of Emma Scott Presents gigs. Let’s chat!

Q. Could we get a brief history of the band.

A. A fateful meeting of minds, a series of strange coincidences, events and a reunion of old friends. The pieces finally fell into place and tHE kI was created.

Formulated on a boredom of the music scene, good taste and a frustration of growing up, tHE kI add a blend of heavy/mellow/flowing rhythms and killer hooks to create a sound that has an appeal to music lovers of past, present and future……Music that makes you want to stamp your feet, music that makes you stop and think and your thinking stop……………..Simply put, music that makes you feel alive like the first time you listened to ‘that track’ that created your fascination and love for music in the very beginning…

tHE kI, by definition, is about energy, balance and harmony and with their musical antenna’s set to pick up on the sound waves for the next generation, “a change is gonna’ come”.

Q. Do any of the band members have any weird habits?

A. Kriski loves bare feet, Joeski loves being camp, Roski loves bear hugs and Siski loves Raki

Q. What are your plans for the future?

A. Think about today, tomorrow may never arrive.

Q. What is the best gig you’ve ever played?

A. Headline gig at the O2 for Emma Scott…Simply awesome!

Q. How about the worst?

A. No such thing as a bad gig – Each gig is an experience and hence gives the band further depth and togetherness.

Q. If you could play with any one in the world, alive or dead for one night only, who would it be?

A. Nirvana – shaped our generation with heart and passion…. Something music lacks in many cases now :(
