Blak Can have played many Emma Scott Presents gigs in the past and they headline for us on Jan 19th at The Slade Rooms, Wolves next:

Band History:

Vox: Ashley Bradley
Guitar: Ryan Deakin
Bass: Adam Hall
Drums: Mudie

Ash Vocals and Ryan Guitar have been performing music for around 12 years, BlakCan formed just over 3 years ago and is now a 4-piece with Mudie on Drums and Adam on Bass.

Been together and playing live in this incarnation for about a year, and we are now really smashing it.

Describe your sound:

A unique blend of Electro Indie Pop with an insurgence of upbeat rhythms reminiscent of heavy machinery, pulsating keyboards and cutting guitar riffs.

Highlights with the band so far?

Playing main support for The Twang at Bristol, Leeds and Sheffield, the crowd loved us and some of them are travelling to our Slade rooms gig.

Hopes for the future?

Grow our fanbase record our 2nd Album and play live everywhere.

What music are you into?

Our influences range from indie music to reggae to dance to Hip hop. We like The Smiths, Joy division, Bowie, Underworld, Bob Marley, Scratch Perry, The Prodigy, Dexys, Oasis, Doves, The Stone Roses, Beatles, NWA, Dr Dre, Leftfield, Sex Pistols, PIL. To name but a few.

What can we expect from your live set?

Live we really kick it harder and heavier, you wil be dancing your ass of by the end.

Why should people come and see you play live?

Cause we put on a real performance no shoe gazing! 45mins of non stop pure entertainment worth every penny of your ticket money.

Do any of the band members have any weird habits?

Drink fall over and drink some more. Normal stuff really!

Any upcoming releases?

We are looking at putting out an EP of a taster of whats to come on our 2nd album, watch this space. We will be playing 3 new uns at the Slade room gig. Be prepared for some big tunes.

What is the best gig you’ve ever played?

Sheffield Leadmill, it was amazing we blasted it.

How about the worst?

We haven’t had a bad un yet! Fingers crossed that we don’t!

If you could play with any one in the world, alive or dead for one night only, who would it be?

The Stone Roses.
